How late does reel m in serve food??
Best fried chicken in town! Strong drinks, good food, cozy spot. The bartenders are amazing people and make sure you give them all your love and support (to Sue Anne, Claudia, Mel, Holly, Jordan, and Marj and Nina: thank you!) There's a wait for chicken (it needs to be cooked, obviously!), so drink some beer, play (free) pool, hang out. Have a good time. And if someone asks when Happy hour is, it's all day everyday π₯
MoreVery friendly atmosphere, fantastic fried chicken during the week is recommended if you there to try the chicken. Wait time about 30 minutes they have only one fryer but it's worth the wait no matter how much you bought I doubt you gonna spend more then 20 on food
MoreOkay... It's gonna take a while to get some chicken, but when you do you'll understand the wait. It's damn fine chicken. Wait for it.... The chicken
MoreEating the food at the Reel M Inn was basically a spiritual experience for me -- the kind of meal you talk about because it's just that good. I came to meet friends here, having never heard of the place. I asked what's on the menu. The reply: "Chicken." Lo and behold, that's about it -- or all that matters, at least. Place an order for a half bird and some jojos, crack a few cheap as hell PBR tallboys and sit back because it's gonna take about an hour to get your grub (the food is cooked in a comically small frier, one order at a time). But when you get it, remember to savor each bite.
MoreLegit the best fried chicken I've ever had. Call it in if you're in a hurry. Gets busy as hell but always worth it. Also it's great to just sit and drink and play a game of pool while you wait.
MoreFantastic broasted chicken and jojos. Deep fried pickles and onion rings. Really good. Sometimes a long wait. I'd order for pickup take out. My chicken sandwich was a bit undercooked but I ate it anyway. It was good. No complaints from anyone else. 4.75 stars.
MoreExtremely good chicken! The server is very fast and nicer then most bars in the area which is a plus for division. The food however does take a while but the whole town is constantly ordering from here so it will take time. Bottles beers of all sorts and typically well drinks. Pool table and video lottery that pays out more then not. Best bar in the area by far π
MoreIf you go here and don't order the chicken strips and Jo-jos, you've wasted a trip that far down Division for nothing. I haven't gone here since 2016 but I still haven't found a place that makes them better, And I work at a deli where I make both those foods.
MoreSpicy thigh sandwich FTW
Friendly service but after placing a phone order and being told half an hour we waited an hour and a half for fried chicken that was not all it was cracked up to be.
MoreBest fried chicken ever!!!!! Only try to get them on a slow night, I've waited 45 minutes just to order. But that just tells you how worth it that chicken is. BRAVO!!!
MoreBest fried Chicken. Ever.
The ladies of the Reel'M Inn pour some of the best drinks in town! Plus, they always have a smile for ya.
MoreBest Fried Chicken here to my friends Momβs house 3 blocks away. She doesnβt take random strangers though. So you are better off coming here. Itβs edible and perfectly lit for a nice creepy nnnnnn-night out date with a random stranger not from here. a surprisingly comfortable with Steel Panther playing periodically with βGang-Bang at the old folks homeβ blaring... Great tasting chicken π!!! With some what of a white trash romantic feeling... did i mention the great tasting deep-fried chicken!!! π π π
MoreLate Night CHICKEN AND JOJOs! Best reason to go here! Usually loud and standing room only when you get there but you can find a place to land rather quickly as most customers are there less than an hour.
MoreBest friend chicken in Portland by a long shot. It's a pleasant, divey spot where you get to chat with neighborhood people. Maybe you shoot a little pool, gamble a little, catch a game, or just enjoy a cold PBR. If you're eating be ready for a wait and tip well because the bartender is making drinks, taking orders and cooking everything fresh.
MoreSome of the beat fried chicken I've ever had!
The atmosphere and ambiance was great, the server was super friendly. The food was good but it took an hour and a half to get our dinner order, and we had to go up to the bar and ask for our appetizers when they didn't arrive after 30min. I give the girl credit though she was cooking and bartending alone.
MoreI cannot emphasize enough how good their chicken is. I do not care for fried chicken but I will be coming back here for more and the prices are beyond phenomenal. The chicken is perfectly breaded and fried so that the outside is crispy (not greasy!) while the inside is tender. There's some sort of magic in their frier which, when combined with the expert ministrations of the staff, produces the finest fried goods imaginable. Seating is a little hard to come by but the drinks are great, the decor is confusingly wonderful, and the staff are exceptional.
MoreI worked here many moons ago. Looking through the pictures was nostalgic, however, also made me a bit sad. The most iconic and prized bar in S.E. Portland they do not show. How great for us oldies to see the bar we sat at and laughed over all the little things in it. Please do the Reel ' em Inn a favor and take some great shots of the bar itself and post them. Otherwise, still the best chicken and jo's in town.
MoreReally good stuff. It's a dive bar though too so, know how to hang in one appropriately. Not out of danger but, out of respect for the actual locals whose bar tabs keep the place open. And don't forget to tip your bartender.
MoreItβs the best, please donβt go there. (Kidding, just be patient and donβt bring a big group.)Mel is a hell of a bartender. Really holds that place down and makes a point to know your name. βπ½
MoreIf you love dive bars, this is your place! Fried chicken is pretty much the only thing on the menu and they do it perfectly! Nothing more to say!
MoreAwesome chicken and JoJo's. Great atmosphere!
Iβve never had a bad time there. Small and cozy. Great draft pints available. Delicious fried π chicken!
MoreBest Fried Chicken in Portland. Perfect tender texture, perfect amount of breading, not distractingly spicy or salty. Very reasonably priced, for the quality and quantity. Takes a little while, but worth the wait.
MoreNot sure why you don't make whole JoJo's but it was good
Been here a number of times. Arguably best fried chicken in town for it's price as well as best jojos, hands down. The sauce tray is awesome.
MoreThe chicken is good. The drinks are good. The music is good. Theres a wait time for the chicken so go b4 ur starving and its small and crowded bcus the chickens so amazing so if youve got anxiety then you should go like as early as possible like 5 pm
MoreBest fried chicken I've had. Well worth the lengthy wait times.
Homely little bar. Has a pool table. Not too loud to have a conversation with friends. Bartender was friendly.
MoreFirst off mad props to the woman running the whole show! She is fantastic. The food is amazing. For $10 I had the 3 leg meal and a drink. The 3 leg meal comes with 3 nice sized drumsticks and 4 huge jojos. Both are super tasty without any sauce on them. All of the food is cooked made to order so be prepared for a little bit of a wait but it is definitely work it!
MoreGood Fried Chicken but I thought the Jojos stole the show! Definitely coming back.
MoreThe chicken was delicious and worth the 45 minute wait!
For fried chicken you have my heart β‘β‘β‘ also your staff is full of rockstars! Multi tasking extraordinaires! My favorite neighborhood dive spot.
MoreThe fried chicken here was amazing! Comes out cooked perfectly and super juicy. The place is a tiny dive bar. There are only a couple sit down tables and a few stand up bar height tables and the bar. I don't think this place is meant to hold more than 20 people. It's a bar. It's a dive bar. The drinks are well priced and the bartender is quick. That said, expect a wait. The food is cooked one order at a time so it's really fresh and hot. I think it was an hour to get our dinner. We we're there after 8 on a Friday.
MoreLove how small this dive bar is. Fried chicken is one of my favorite. Not too heavy on the breading and still juicy and crisp.
MoreBest fried chicken you'll ever have! Drinks are cheap. Dive bars are the best!
Loved the chicken. Our bartender/server was so sweet and told us about the place on top of serving the food AND cooking it. Get there before the crowed, they cook the chicken to order and there's just the one fryer but it is worth the wait.
MoreNice little dive bar with good fried chicken. Always made fresh to order. With only one fryer and employee it can take a while, but it is worth it. Is it the best fried chicken in town? I donβt know, but itβs really good and worth the experience.
MoreGreat broasted chicken and some of the largest JoJo's on the planet!
One of Portland's original dive bars, the Reel M' Inn holds a special place in the hearts of natives in PDX. I had been here before but until recently had never tried the fried chicken. It is known as being the best in town and now I would agree! Just simply outstanding. In addition the jojos were huge, lightly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The bar is small, cozy and eclectic. Expect to wait a bit for your food but it's sooo worth it π
MoreBest chicken in town. Hands down. I make my weekly visit! Try it and you're hooked.Marj was excellent on the service!
MoreChicken is good and so are the JoJo's, it does take to long to get but I will say this, this woman bartender running everything..... I mean everything! Picked up tables service and bartender and cook...... Chicken is great and I will come again. 4 stars only for the wait but not her fault. Please get more fryers.
MoreChicken and jojos for the win! If you so choose, the thai chili whatever it is magic sauce is too wonderful
MoreTasty corn dogs and the chicken ain't bad either. Very friendly staff!
The best fried chicken in town, be prepared for a long wait on food, it is worth it. Incredible dive atmosphere.
MoreIt was a very cute place, the apps I ordered were delicious, and the overall vibe was awesome. However, it is a small place and you will often have to walk around the entire place to get back to your seat. The kitchen appears small and therefore the wait may sometimes be up to an hour long.
MoreOmg this place is fun and so Portland! Chicken and JoJo's the best!
Total dive bar with supposed legendary chicken. After having too much fried chicken in my day, I would say this sits towards the better end resting at about 75% better than most. It's pretty darn good. They will tell you this ahead, but the chicken can take hours to get if the place is busy. They may have one or two friars in the back, so you'll wait. The beer selection is grand. It's a fun place if you're not real hungry when you walk into the joint.
